Get HR and Management Qualified At the Same Time, With No Extra Work

At DPG, we are now offering a new Level 5 Dual HR and Management accredited programme. It’s the same course as our existing CIPD Level 5 Human Resource Management Diploma programme, only now you gain an ILM (Institute of Leadership & Management) award at the same time and at the same price.

This is something that will be available on our autumn programme. “You are getting two qualifications for the price of one,” says Gail Power, head of delivery at DPG. “Previous students can also contact us to apply for an ILM upgrade.”

How can you be eligible for the ILM award, just by doing our Level 5 CIPD programme? It’s because the ILM has been looking at this particular programme recently and said the content has such a robust focus on management and is of such a high quality, that it thinks course participants should get their Level 5 Leadership and Management Diploma too.

Having a Level 5 Leadership and Management diploma under your belt, as well as the CIPD qualification, is great as an HR professional as it really helps you to develop your career and boost your portfolio of skills. It also highlights your management expertise, as well as your HR expertise. “It means you can progress your career as a manager, as well as your career as an HR professional,” says Power. “HR professionals do an awful lot of general management so having this added qualification shows the organisation you work for that you have these skills in management, as well as in HR. It makes you more marketable as an individual.”

Those management skills are, of course, transferable to any discipline, not just HR. Each of the course units covers a different HR theme, but with generic management included as well. For example, when doing the employment law unit, participants also learn about how to advise the business on good practice.

These are the different units:

  • Business issues and the context of HR and Management
  • Using information in the business and HR
  • Resourcing and Talent Planning for the business
  • Reward Management
  • Contemporary development in employee relations
  • Managing and coordinating the HR/business functions
  • Employment law in practice

The programme takes around 10 months to complete and DPG are offering the ILM upgrade for no extra cost until the 14th July. Both blended and online programmes are available, with blended location workshops in Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Huntingdon, Leeds, London, Manchester, Northampton and Nottingham.
