The Human Resource Management programme includes four core modules — which are the same as the HRD programme — and four specialist modules which focus on key HR strategies.

  • HR Management in Context – You’ll gain an understanding of the environmental contexts of contemporary organisations within which managers, HR professionals and workers interact.
  • Leading, Managing and Developing People – This module explores people management and development, seeking to familiarise you with major contemporary research on employment and effective approaches to HR and L&D practice.
  • Developing Skills for Business Leadership – You’ll learn a strong sense of self-awareness of your own strengths and development needs as a manager or colleague.
  • Investigating a Business Issue from an HR Perspective – You’ll learn the key elements of professional competency, including strategic awareness, business orientation and a concern with adding value through HR practice.

  • Resourcing and Talent Management – This module focuses on the practical aspects of recruitment, selection, employee retention and dismissal. It also explores the strategic aspects needed to equip you with the knowledge and skills required for resourcing and talent management within a global context.
  • Reward Management – This module examines rewards in an organisational and international context and provides you with knowledge of environments in which professionals plan, implement and evaluate employee reward policies to support strategic organisational goals.
  • Managing Employee Relations – This module will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of employment relations perspectives and debates, from a theoretical and behavioural competency perspective.
  • Employment Law – This module will provide you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to brief organisations on the consequences of employment law development and give up-to-date and accurate advice concerning the practical application of legal principles that underpin UK (or Irish) and EU Employment Law.

Throughout my career, I started out in recruitment from an agency side and when I started here at Nycomm I moved into internal recruitment. With the internal recruitment side of things, I started twitching on all of these other parts of HR that I hadn’t really had any experience in, so then from that, I started to do some research and decided that their course offering with DPG was right for me.

With DPG there are quite a few offerings that were different from other providers. I liked the fact that there was a blended course option where I could go to workshops to learn from others, but also to actually do the things online in my own time at home, because I knew I was going to have to work full-time as well as doing this.

I think meeting other people from different businesses with different experiences from the workshops, learning from each other, that was great. And I think that all wraps up with our tutor Jo, she was fantastic and she really brought everything to life. Jo is also currently working in HR so that also really helps. As I’m working full time, the blended online and workshop works perfectly for me because it meant I had my own time since to do the reading and catch up with everything, but it also meant that I still have that experience of other people, other industries and other companies

After completing your Level 7 Diploma

Once you have successfully completed your Level 7 advanced certificate/diploma, you will have achieved the highest standard of professionalism within the HR industry.

You will also have achieved the knowledge required for CIPD Chartered membership — a globally recognised status that recognises professionals who use their expertise in people, work and change to create value to organisations and the industry as a whole. If you have the relevant work experience, you can apply for a membership assessment which, if successful, will upgrade you to a Chartered Member (MCIPD).
