Michael Kelly Shortlisted for People Management Award

Improvement Manager, Mykela Pratt, has been shortlisted for the People Management Awards’ Michael Kelly Outstanding Student Award.

“Winning the award would be a really proud moment for me, I am lucky in that I love my job so to win an award and be recognised for the work that I do would be a fantastic achievement, both on a personal and professional level. Whatever the outcome, I’m sure it will be a great evening, with the opportunity to celebrate successes and meet HR colleagues from across the public and private sector,” says Pratt.

Mykela, from Thurrock Council, has completed the first year of her CIPD Level 7 HR Management qualification with DPG in London.

“Getting CIPD qualified with DPG has given me the understanding of why we do what we do in HR and the value add that we should be striving to achieve and demonstrate for all managers and employees,” going on to say “My course tutor Louise has been fantastic and it has been great to have met such a friendly and knowledgeable group of people whilst on my course.”

“When I discussed entering for the award with my boss, I was well aware that the competition would be of a high standard, so I feel lucky to have been shortlisted. The presentation element was daunting, however a fantastic experience to present to such an esteemed panel of judges.”
