Develop your HR team with the new HR Support Level 3 Apprenticeship standard
The new HR Support Level 3 Apprenticeship standard is now available from DPG. Created in conjunction with training providers Interserve Learning & Employment, the new standard is designed to develop your own HR skills or that of your team. This apprenticeship is aimed at anyone who is either starting out, or at the early stages of their career – such as an HR administrator or HR officer.
A wide range of HR professionals can take advantage of the apprenticeship – anyone delivering front line support to managers and other employees is eligible. It is also available to professionals in small organisations who perform HR functions as part of their job role – people doing recruitment and performance reviews, for example.
Apprenticeship Levy funding can be drawn to pay for the programme. Upon successful completion of the 15-month course, participants are also accredited with the CIPD Level 3 Certificate in Human Resource Practice, at no additional cost. (This is a special extra benefit you get when you choose DPG)
The apprentice programme consists of 9 modules – the first 6 cover the generic role of HR and the general knowledge and skills required of HR practitioners. The next 3 modules focus on the skills and behaviours required to achieve the standards to pass the end point assessment. The apprentice also receives a monthly review and support sessions, including remote one-to-one sessions with their personal facilitator.
Here’s a little more information about what each module covers:
Understanding Organisations & the Role of HR
This module outlines the role of HR within an organisation and how it interacts with the wider external environment.
Developing Yourself as an HR Practitioner
This module enables apprentices to gain a thorough understanding and appreciation of the knowledge, skills and behaviour required of an HR professional.
Resourcing and Talent Planning
This third module gives apprentices an overview of the resourcing and talent planning processes. In addition, there is a hands-on element, with apprentices taking part in a recruitment and selection activity and interview.
Recording and Analysing HR Data
Data is so important to HR now. This module explains how accurate data helps HR.
Management Employment Relations
This module outlines several aspects of managing employee relations. It also covers employment law in relation to employee relations.
Performance & Reward Management
This module discusses the purpose of performance and reward management and how HR can ensure good practice.
This module explores why organisations need to be ready to change and HR’s role in making it happen.
HR Advisory Skills 1
HR needs to be a business adviser. This module takes apprentices through that process, looking at how the apprentice can work as an internal consultant and the key stages in the consulting process. It looks at the skills and techniques required.
HR Advisory Skills 2
Organisational development is another key area and this module helps the apprentice understand the concept and how it contributes to organisational change. It will equip them with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to operate as an organisational development practitioner within HR. This leads onto the work-related project in the end point assessment.
The apprentice also receives individual remote support in preparation for their End Point Assessment.
